Marie joined G W Scott in 2004 as a Client Manager. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the role, especially when it comes to the not for profit sector, and is skilled at helping trusts and charities identify opportunities and resolve issues that may arise.
But accounting wasn't Marie's first career choice. When she left school, Marie studied languages at the University of Waikato. It was while she was working in a job as an early grad that she found she really enjoyed the accounts side of the role. She made the move into accounting and has never looked back.
It's the challenge of accounting that Marie enjoys. She likes puzzles, and she sums up accounting as being a lot like doing a puzzle, as you only get the complete picture once you've finished.
Marie loves the family-friendly values at G W Scott and really enjoys the social aspect of working in the office – there's a good balance of being able to have a laugh with the team as well as getting down to the serious side of work.
